Ballarat Mentoring
In Ballarat, many children and young people are facing significant challenges — from family breakdown and mental health issues to the long-term impacts of disadvantage, isolation, and trauma. Some have experienced family violence, loss, or simply don’t have a consistent adult role model they can turn to for guidance and support.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is working on the ground in Ballarat to change that. Our mentoring program matches local young people aged 7–17 with caring, trained adult mentors who meet regularly to listen, support, and encourage them. These one-to-one mentoring relationships help build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging — providing a steady hand during some of life’s most difficult moments.
We currently have young people in Ballarat waiting for a mentor. With your help, we can recruit and train more local volunteers to meet this growing demand and ensure no child or young person must face life’s challenges alone.
Your donation can help unlock a brighter, safer future for a young person right here in our community.
