Did you know it costs around $1500 a day to keep a young person in Australian youth detention? In stark contrast, it only costs $3600 a year to provide a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
To support this cause, We're getting locked up, and we need your help to raise my bail! All funds will go towards helping young people find life-changing connections and build a brighter future.
Here's How It Works:
Experience Jail Life
Upon arrival, Inmates will be stripped of their possessions, given a prison uniform, fingerprinted, photographed, and fed prison gruel in the exercise yard.
Mock Interrogation and Court:
Inmates will face an interrogation and court proceedings before being sentenced to cell time with my gang or in solitary confinement!
Fundraising Goals:
Supermax Inmate: Raise $5000 for release
Cellblock Inmate: Raise $1000 for release
Cellblock Inmate: Raise $1000 for release
This unique experience will help bring attention to the urgent need for mentorship programs, highlighting the stark contrast between the high costs of detention and the relatively low costs of preventive mentoring.

My Story
I’m getting locked up—and I need your help to break out for a cause that breaks the cycle.
On August 15th, I’ll be “locked up” in the Old Adelaide Gaol as part of a unique fundraiser to support mentoring programs for young people doing it tough. The reality is, it costs around $1500 a day to keep a young person in youth detention—but only $3600 a year to give them a caring, consistent mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters and Streetlight. I’m raising bail to support Streetlight’s mentoring work—through adventure-based mentoring and supervised driver mentoring—giving young people connection, skills, and hope for a better future. Every donation brings me closer to release and helps unlock real change in a young person’s life. Will you chip in and help me get out—for a reason that really matters?
